Does marijuana really relieve pain?

From Canada.com, a new study proves scientifically that marijuana relieves pain.  Of course, authorities in the US have suspected this for a long time now, which is why the US government has not approved any study that would settle the question once and for all.  Good thing Canada has a bit more sense...

The use of marijuana for a few carefully selected medical conditions has generated heated discussion, pitting those who favour legalization against those who warn about the undesired consequences of wider availability. Absent from much of the debate so far, however, is scientific evidence to establish whether marijuana really works to relieve chronic pain; and if it does, whether it does so in a manner that is distinct from simply providing the well-known high that has made it a popular recreational but illicit drug.   14. My personal experience with Mary Jane is that it does relieve pain and lowers fever.
    Just an overall awesome natural medicine, but with little or no side-effects.

  15. I've tried mary few times to relieve pain, it did not help as I was expecting but it did make me forget I was in pain :D

    and that counts also.. I think :D

  18. i have a slight back problem but when im high i dont notice my back hurting as much. but its not ever time i smoke does it go away. some strains might be better than others for pain relief.
